When I first took my freshman psychology class, I was bitten by the bug. I knew right then and there that I wanted to get my psychology degree in school. But now I have some questions.
Most importantly, what can I do with a psychology degree?
Here are a few options that I’ve read about. Let me know what other careers you know about.
· Social Worker- Social work interests me because I’d love to help people improve their lives. I’d be able to help people through their issues and to solve personal problems that damage their lives. I could even get into the domestic dispute branch of it helping children who have been abused.
· Forensic Psychology- I’m not going to lie; I watch a lot of those reality crime shows. I just love seeing people solve crimes as well as the psyche of criminals. Forensic psychology is the meeting place between psychology and the judicial system. As a forensic psychologist, I’d be responsible for tasks like examining a defendant to determine if they’re fit to stand trial.
· Therapy- Of course, I could also become a therapist. This is an interesting field because you get to help people deal with and cope with serious problems in their lives. A therapist can help people improve their quality of life.
